A series of projects carried out by Good Hands Initiative in the Kalutara District with the objective of creating interest and confidence among Sri Lankans in making coconut seedlings from coconut seed nursery at home.

In the last few months, the Good Hands Initiative has successfully completed a number of coconut nursing and coconut planting projects to assist a group of our FB Friends who showed interest in coconut cultivation through the Facebook page.
The project was carried out in three phases, with the first phase taking place around the Matugama area at the end of March.
Subsequently, in April, a number of projects were launched in Agalawatta, Bulathsinhala, Molkawa, Baduraliya, Panadura and Bandaragama, which were successfully completed with the tireless efforts and dedication of the Good Hands Initiative.
Families in each area were provided with free seed coconuts for nurseries, practical knowledge at home level and good hands manual containing coconut related details.

The GHI emphasized its main objective is not to distribute coconut plants or seed coconuts; but to encourage and motivate the Sri Lankans to cultivate at least one coconut plant, by obtaining the same through nursing a seed coconut.
